Our History, Philosophy and Mission...

Bellevue Heights Nursery School (BHNS) is a private, non-profit, non-sectarian preschool founded in 1972 to meet the need for a quality preschool in Syracuse's Strathmore area. We began with a handful of children and teachers and have grown to approximately 40 children and a full staff! At BHNS, our philosophy has remained the same:

"Children learn best through play."

Our mission at Bellevue Heights Nursery School is to create a nurturing, child-centered environment where children learn through play and are empowered to make decisions, solve problems, and to build relationships that promote the inclusion of all people and a love of learning.
